Advocacy
Advocacy is the name given to the many ways by which people can be enabled or empowered to have their voice heard. People are entitled to be in control of their own lives but sometimes through whatever reasons they find themselves in a position where their ability to exercise choice or represent their own interests is limited. In these circumstances advocacy can help ensure that an individuals views are heard, respected and acted upon. Advocacy promotes social inclusion, equality and social justice.
We are able to provide advocacy to many organisations. Currently we provide advocacy to private hospitals whose patients are compulsory detained under the powers of the Mental Health Act 1983.
