About CIC

“A Community Interest Company that makes a difference in the lives of the most vulnerable”

Wadsworth and Cook Associates registered initially as a Limited company in September 2006 and successfully converted to a Community Interest Company in May 2008. W & C are now regulated by the CIC regulator at Companies House.

CIC’S are a new type of company designed specifically for social enterprises that want to use their profits and assets for the public good, working for the benefit of the community.

In this regard, Wadsworth and Cook Associates are an organisation which pursues social objectives and as a social enterprise, we will strive to play an increasing role in regenerating disadvantaged areas, empowering local communities and delivering new, innovative services to local people.

On a legal note, as a CIC and governed by the CIC Regulator, Wadsworth and Cook Associates are asset locked thus ensuring that all assets, including profits and other surpluses generated by activities, are used for the benefit of the community.

Our Beneficiary Groups

The primary objective of this project is to provide disadvantaged individuals, our beneficiary groups, with a real prospect of a therapeutic and holistic respite holiday which is typically unachievable due to financial constraints and social deprivation.
